The History of the Ski Club Arlberg
The Ski Club Arlberg has been synonymous with Alpine skiing since the beginning of the 20th century.
Since the memorable day of 3rd January 1901 a lot has happened in ski sports. Skiing has developed into a widespread sport, in the course of time becoming an integral part of the life of a number of people. A whole lifestyle has developed around the sport.
The SCA has always set new landmarks in skiing. Whether with Hannes Schneider’s “invention”, the Arlberg technique, the numerous world champions and Olympic medallists or the 6,500 club members from 46 different nations, everybody has their place and position in the unique congregation of the SCA.
